CUSTOM DOOR INSTALLATION · DAYTON OHIO
Most interior doors in older homes are hollow-core. They're light, they let sound through, and they look dated. Swapping them for solid-core panels with new trim and hardware is one of the highest-return cosmetic upgrades you can make — instantly quieter rooms and a more substantial feel throughout the home.
We've been installing interior doors across the Miami Valley since 1987 — solid-core swaps, French doors, barn doors, closet bypass doors, and full re-trim packages. Most jobs come in through our Kettering design center where you can see and feel real door samples.
SCOPE OF WORK
Replace hollow-core panels with solid-core. Quieter rooms, more substantial feel, better fire/sound rating. Existing jambs reused where possible.
Modern bypass with track hardware, bifold replacements, or full conversions to swing doors. Closet rod and shelving adjusted as needed.
Glass-paneled French doors between living areas. Single or pair, frosted or clear glass. Proper hinge spacing and astragal for clean closure.
Barn door hardware over openings where a swing door wastes space. Black, bronze, or brushed nickel track and hangers.
Old jamb torn out, new pre-hung door with pre-installed jamb. Proper shimming, level plumb, smooth swing.
New casing around every replaced door — flat-stock modern, classic colonial, or custom profile. Painted to match your existing trim or upgraded as part of the job.
OUR PROCESS
Showroom or in-home — solid-core vs hollow, panel style, hinge color, hardware finish. Clear quote before anything gets ordered.
Old doors and casing pulled. Hinges removed, holes patched if needed. Old hardware bagged for the homeowner if they want it.
Existing jambs cleaned and adjusted, OR replaced entirely with pre-hung units. Shims set, level checked, plumb verified.
Door hung on new hinges, gap and reveal checked across the entire perimeter. Latch strike adjusted so it engages without slamming.
Knob or lever installed, hinge pins set, casing nailed and caulked. Filler and touch-up paint where needed.
Every door tested with you. Smooth swing, clean latch, no rubbing on the floor. Casing and jambs inspected before we leave.
MATERIALS
The modern look. Clean, painted finish. Heavy enough to feel premium, simple enough for any home style.
Classic American interior doors. Painted or stained. Works in traditional and transitional homes.
When the budget can't stretch to solid-core — still possible. We'll be honest about which rooms benefit most from the upgrade.
Glass-paneled doors for offices, dining rooms, and master suites. Frosted, clear, or grid options.
Track-mounted hardware for spaces where a swing door wastes square footage. Single, double, or full bypass.
Levers, knobs, hinges, and strikes in matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, brushed nickel, satin chrome, or brass. Coordinate or contrast with your existing trim.

FAQ
How long does door installation take?
A single door swap in an existing jamb takes 1–2 hours. A full-house solid-core upgrade with new casing typically runs 2–3 days. French and barn doors take a half-day each.
Will my new doors fit my existing jambs?
Often yes. Standard 28", 30", 32", and 36" pre-hung doors fit most modern openings. Older homes sometimes need jamb replacement, which we can do as part of the job.
Can you match my existing trim?
Yes. We profile-match casing or upgrade the entire trim package as part of the install. Painted to match your existing trim color if you want continuity.
What's the difference between solid and hollow core?
Solid-core has wood or composite filling — heavier, quieter, more soundproof. Hollow-core is lighter, cheaper, and louder. Most upgrade packages use solid-core throughout.
Is your door work warrantied?
Yes. Our installation carries a written workmanship warranty. Manufacturer warranties on doors and hardware vary by product.
