A laminate floor is only as good as the subfloor underneath it. Before any plank gets snapped together, RA Cooks Renovations levels the substrate, lays down underlayment, and dry-fits the pattern so seams land where they're least visible.
We've been installing flooring across the Miami Valley since 1987 — kitchens, hallways, bedrooms, basements, and rental units. Most jobs come in through our Kettering design center where you can see real samples in real lighting.

Water-resistant laminate planks designed for kitchen traffic — easier on the budget than hardwood, easier on the back than tile.
High-traffic walkways in wood-look or stone-look laminate, with proper transitions to adjacent rooms and exterior doors.
Warm, quiet laminate with foam underlayment that softens footfall — clean look that pairs with any decor.
Moisture-resistant laminate over a vapor barrier — a more affordable option than LVP for finished basements that stay reliably dry.
Durable, fast-installing laminate that holds up to tenant turnover — easy to replace plank-by-plank if damaged.

OUR PROCESS
We check for level, moisture, and existing damage. Anything out of spec gets corrected before the first plank.
Foam, cork, or moisture-barrier underlayment selected based on the room. This is what makes the floor feel solid underfoot.
We map plank direction, stagger pattern, and seam placement so cuts land at walls — not in the middle of the room.
Click-lock planks installed with proper expansion gaps, scribed cleanly around door jambs, vents, and cabinetry.
Quarter-round, T-molding, or reducer strips at every transition. Painted or stained to match your existing trim.
Job-site clean, every seam checked, hardware reset. We don't leave until you've signed off in person.
MATERIALS
The thicker, higher-rated planks. Best for kitchens and high-traffic areas — looks like hardwood, holds up to dogs and chairs.
Standard residential grade in the widest pattern selection. Good for bedrooms, hallways, and lighter-traffic rooms.
Sealed plank edges and waterproof core for kitchens, mudrooms, and powder rooms — handles spills without swelling.
Laminate that mimics travertine, slate, or large-format tile — the look without the cost or the cold underfoot.
Modern, calmer look. Fewer seams, better for open layouts and bigger rooms.
Pattern laminate for entryways and accent areas. Adds visual interest without committing the whole house.

FAQ
How long does laminate flooring installation take?
A single room takes 1–2 days. A full main-floor install (kitchen + living + dining + hall) typically runs 3–5 days. Demo of old flooring and any subfloor leveling can add a day or two.
Do I need to remove my furniture and old flooring?
No — we handle all of it. Furniture moves, old flooring removal, debris hauled away. Pets and kids stay safely out of the work zone.
Is laminate good for kitchens or bathrooms?
Modern water-resistant laminate works well in kitchens. For full bathrooms with regular standing water, we'd steer you toward LVP or tile instead.
Can laminate go over my existing flooring?
Sometimes. Over solid vinyl or thin tile, possibly. Over carpet, never. We assess every job before quoting.
Is laminate flooring warrantied?
Yes. The plank itself carries a manufacturer warranty (15–30 years typical). Our installation work carries a written workmanship warranty.
