LVP is the floor of choice for families with kids and pets — it shrugs off water, scratches, and scuffs while looking like real hardwood. But the prep underneath matters as much as the plank on top. RA Cooks Renovations levels the substrate, runs moisture barrier where needed, and dry-lays the pattern before any plank locks in.
We've been installing flooring across the Miami Valley since 1987 — kitchens, baths, basements, rental units, and whole-home refreshes. Most jobs come in through our Kettering design center where you can see and feel every option.

Waterproof LVP that handles dishwasher leaks, pet bowls, and dropped pans. Wood-look without the maintenance headache.
Fully waterproof construction — no swelling, no warping, no fear of standing water from a tub overflow.
Goes over concrete with the right underlayment. Stable in the temperature swings and humidity that finished basements deal with.
Built for wet boots, sand, and dog paws. Easy to wipe clean, hard to damage.
Warmer underfoot than tile, quieter than laminate, and the visual range now rivals real hardwood.
Continuous LVP across every room — clean transitions, no seams between spaces, the look of one big remodel.
OUR PROCESS
Floor leveled to within 3/16" over 10 ft. Concrete checked for moisture. Any high spots ground down, low spots filled.
Over concrete, we lay a vapor barrier. Over wood subfloor, an acoustic underlayment. The right base for your specific room.
We dry-lay the first few rows to verify color blend and stagger pattern. Cuts get planned so they fall at walls, not focal points.
Click-lock or glue-down depending on the product and substrate. Proper expansion gaps, clean scribes around obstacles.
Quarter-round, baseboard reset, T-molding at room transitions. Color-matched to your existing trim or upgraded as part of the job.
Every seam inspected, every transition flush, the floor tested with you walking it before we close the job.
MATERIALS
Our most-recommended LVP. Rigid, dent-resistant, dimensionally stable. Great for kitchens and high-traffic areas.
Slightly softer underfoot than SPC, with built-in cushion. Good in bedrooms and family rooms where comfort matters most.
Modern, calm look. Fewer seams across an open floor plan.
Realistic oak, hickory, walnut, and reclaimed-wood patterns. Embossed-in-register textures so the look matches the touch.
LVP that mimics travertine, slate, marble — the look of stone without the cold or the upkeep.
Premium herringbone LVP for entries, kitchens, and anywhere you want a focal-point floor.

FAQ
Is LVP really waterproof?
Yes. The plank itself doesn't absorb water — but if water gets through the seams to the subfloor, you can still get problems. Proper installation matters.
How long does LVP installation take?
A single room is 1–2 days. A whole main floor runs 4–7 days. Demo of old flooring and concrete prep can add 1–2 days.
Does LVP work over radiant heat?
Yes, with the right product. Most LVP rated for in-floor heat is also rated for use over concrete with a moisture barrier. We verify the spec sheet before installing.
How does LVP compare to hardwood?
LVP is waterproof, scratch-resistant, and 30–60% cheaper. Real hardwood is more premium and refinishable, but loses to LVP in kitchens, baths, and basements.
Is LVP installation warrantied?
Yes. The plank carries the manufacturer warranty (15–lifetime depending on product). Our installation work carries a written workmanship warranty.
