Oakwood is one of the Dayton area’s most established suburbs, with a housing stock that skews heavily toward early-20th-century architecture — Tudor Revivals, Craftsman bungalows, and Colonial Revivals, many built before World War II. A lot of Oakwood roofs started as slate or tile, so replacing or restoring them takes more care and craftsmanship than a standard asphalt tear-off.
The neighborhood’s steep roof pitches, dormers, and mature tree canopy also shape the work: more complex rooflines, more flashing and valley detail, and more shade and debris that can shorten a roof’s life.
